Mary Kom won her first gold medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Incheon on Wednesday. She also became the first Indian woman boxer to clinch a gold at the Asiad.

HT had reported how the application for tax exemption for the movie 'Mary Kom' was stuck in bureaucratic rigmarole since it was released. Now, the state government has issued orders for exemting it from tax.

Rani Mukherjee-starrer 'Mardani' was exempted from tax after chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan watched the movie.

Expectations for tax exemption for 'Mary Kom' were high considering that she had spent time in Bhopal and the state government had felicitated her and presented Rs 50 lakh after she won a bronze at the Olympics.
