Seeking its share from Punjab for the party’s national tally in the Lok Sabha polls, the BSP chief, in her maiden election rally here, held the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress responsible for the "misrule" in the country and projected that BSP is the only option for the people.

"These elections are going to be very crucial as on one hand, the Congress secretly wants prime minister’s chair for its Yuvraj (Rahul Gandhi), and on the other the BJP wants Modi as the PM. If you want to see this ‘Dalit ki beti’ as your PM, you will have to vote for the BSP," Mayawati said.

Denying any possibility of an alliance in Punjab, she said, "I never approved of an alliance in Punjab and categorically told my leaders to go alone."
