in South Delhi, amid protests from traders.

However, as the MCD continued with the sealing drive, members of the civic body's Standing Committee expressed unhappiness over officials showing "over-enthusiasm" in the drive and going beyond the directions of the Supreme Court.

"Some MCD officials have shown over-enthusiasm in the sealing operations. If anybody goes beyond the directions of the Supreme Court's monitoring committee, action will be taken against them," Leader of the MCD House Jitendra Kochchar told reporters.

Deputy Commissioners and Additional Commissioners of the civic body have been summoned before the Standing Committee meeting scheduled on Monday.

In Saturday's action, following inspection by the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee, the MCD sealed Ozone, a multi-storey ultra-modern gym-cum-fitness centre running in a residential premises in posh Defence Colony area, civic body officials said.

The officials said the gym, which had a dance floor for aerobics, fitted with hi-tech lighting and sound system, was illegally constructed and was functioning behind the facade of a nursing home.

The drive was spread over all 12 civic zones, they said.

In Zumrudpur area in South Delhi, the drive had to be suspended for sometime as the traders staged protests and blocked traffic.
