Media, wearing war paint, had pushed the two nations on the brink of a war after the last year’s Mumbai terror strikes, said Sethi on Tuesday after receiving the Golden Pen of Freedom award from the World Editor’s Forum. Media were “entrapped in narrow nationalism” and had become a part of the problem rather than a solution, said the editor-in-chief, Friday Times and Daily Times. Media on both sides had played spoilers whenever serious attempts were made to find a solution to bilateral issues, he said.
