Further he said districts falling under earthquake prone areas should be taken on priority and it must be ensured that building codes are enforced effectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman MP Housing Board Subroto Banerjee highlighted the need for retrofitting of buildings and promoting green technology.
An award was announced, on the occasion, to promote green construction and integrated buildings. MP Housing Board in association with Glasgow University of UK instituted the award. Many eminent earthquake engineering experts and others are participating in the seminar.
