A symposium on 'Water availability and Chemical Agriculture in India' will also be held on the occasion.
Prof Dr SK De, Ex-director, Sheila Dhar Institute of AU and the chief organising director of the meet informed that the conference will be inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of AU Prof Rajen Harshe while Prof Dr DK Das, former head, Division of Agricultural Physics, IARI, New Delhi and an eminent scientist will be the chief guest on the occasion.
"About 125 delegates from different parts of the country are expected to participate. Dr PK Banerjee, ex-director of Agriculture, Himachal Pradesh will preside over the conference which will be for two days at the Sheila Dhar Institute of Soil Science, Allahabad," said Prof De.
The main theme of the conference will be on the frequent deaths of farmers chiefly because of food unavailability, water scarcity or floods, he added.
Prof De said that Prof Dr Sant Singh, ex-head of the department of Soil Science and Agricultural chemistry and ex-dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, BHU, Varanasi will be awarded the 'Scientist of eminence Gold Medal and certificate Award (2006)' on the occasion too.
