The attack took place in Khool-Noorabad shortly after Mehbooba, who is contesting from Anantnag parliamentary seat, left the venue and the crowd was dispersing, inspector general of police K Ranjendra said.

Ten people, including a television cameraman and his driver, were injured in the blast, he said. One later succumbed to injuries.

The grenade exploded near the podium underneath the vehicle of the TV channel. All injured were admitted to hospitals.

This is the second attack on a poll rally of the PDP chief. On April 8, terrorists had lobbed grenades at her poll meet in Uri killing 12 people and injuring 60, including two state ministers.
