The crime branch would also confront Meiyapppan with Virendra Randhawa alias Vindoo Dara Singh during the course of investigation which could stretch through the night, added police sources.

Meiyappan had reached Mumbai Commissioner office compound at 8.55 pm in a white Honda Accord wearing black T-shirt on Friday. He was escorted into the Unit-1 of the Crime branch by a posse of policemen.

Police sources said, a team of police officers from Unit - 1 and Unit -2 of the crime branch was questioning him, on a pre-decided line of investigation.

Himanshu Roy, joint commissioner of police (crime) said, “We summoned Meiyappan based on the information that we gathered during Vindoo’s interrogation.”

The crime branch will now question on whether Meiyappan has been passing on information of team strategies. “We have decided on a line of questioning. Based on the answer he would give, we would decided whether to arrest him or not,” said Roy

Earlier in the day, Gurunath had called crime branch officials and informed his intend to come to the crime branch, and had said that he would not be able to meet the 5 pm deadline.
