The local women also fought with the cops and tore the uniform of a sub-inspector after snatching his badges.

The police nabbed a woman on the spot and brought her to the police station but released her later.

The incident took place this noon when an anti-encroachment squad reached the thatched hut of Makhan Kahar, constructed on primary school land.

Initially, the police personnel escorting the squad asked Makhan to vacate the hut but he paid no attention to them.

When the cops forcibly tried to evict the illegal occupants, Makhan and his family objected and attacked the police party with sticks and stones.

The women of the family had a scuffle with a sub-inspector, SB Gautam and tore off his uniform.

Later, the police arrested a woman named Munni and brought her to the police station but she was released later as her kin claimed her to be of unsound mind.
