A home guard was beaten to death by six men who allegedly posed as press reporters near Vasundhara crossing on Link Road in Ghaziabad.

Vikas Tiwari, the victim, did not allow a mini-truck to enter the no-entry zone towards Mohan Nagar on Friday evening over which an altercation broke out between the guard and the occupants of the vehicle, police said. The assailants tried to pressure Tiwari by taking out a camera and threatening him to implicate in an extortion case. When the guard refused to budge, the six men beat him up badly. Later that evening, Tiwari complained of acute abdominal pain and was taken to the hospital, where he died, police said.

Superintendent of Police SS Yadav said an FIR has been lodged against Javed, Monu and four other unidentified men under various sections of IPC.
