Mercer to invest $50 mn in India

The global HR outsourcing major will deliver complete solutions for retirement plan, health and benefit administration in India.

Global Human Resource outsourcing and consulting major Mercer will spend $50 million over the next three years on its upcoming global operations centre in Noida, near Delhi.

Software firm Patni Computers is partnering with Mercer to support its global growth in the HR segment.

Mercer delivers complete outsourcing solutions for retirement plan administration, health and benefit administration, absense management and business process outsopurcing for HR services to corporation in US, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Announcing the plan, Mercer HR services President Jeff Miller said, "HR outsourcing is one of the fastest growing categories globally and Mercer's planned expenditure of $50 million in the new global operations centre reflects its commitment to leverage global resources and maximising growth opportunities in this category."

While Mercer is operating with 4,100 manpower worldwide, in India it will operate with its own 96 employees, supported by 70 employees of Patni.

Jeff said that they selected Patni as a local partner in India because of its high-end back office and technical support services as well as its similar global footprints.
