Reviewing the scheme extensively at his camp office on Tuesday, Abhijat expressed grave concern regarding the slow progress of scheme and several malpractices that were going on in it. Senior education officials were instructed to immediately lodge FIR against gram pradhan, gram panchyat vikas adhikari and headmaster at those schools in villages where the meals were not being cooked. He said anyone found guilty will be put behind bars.
He called upon parents specially mothers to raise their voice in those schools where quality meal was not being provided and lodge their complaint with the Basic Shiksha Adhikari and chief development officer.
The DM further stated that people could also lodge their grievances with the district panchayat adhikari on the following phone number: 2548392. In addition he sought report of all schools where students’ attendance was recorded between 55 to 60 per cent.
He directed all assistant BSAs to tour the schools to check whether the meal was being made available as per the menu or not.
He also directed the assistant BSAs to complete the construction work of primary schools by January 15, at any cost. On the issue of absenteeism of teachers, he clearly said that they would not be let off with a mere warning rather action would be taken against them.
