Militants attack MLA's house in Manipur

Unidentified militants attacked the private house of a Manipur MLA in interior Churachandpur district, but no casualty was reported.

Unidentified militants attacked the private house of a Manipur MLA in interior Churachandpur district but no casualty was reported, official sources said on Monday.

The militants threw a bomb at the house of National People's Party (NPP) MLA, T Hangkhanpao on Sunday damaging its front portion.

Hangkhanpao was not present at the time of the incident as he stays at official residence here but six members of his family were.

No indivual or group has claimed responsibility for the crime so far.

Police said investigate was on to find out whether the incident was connected to monetary demand from the MLA by some militant outfits.
