Mini marathon on October 29

A MINI marathon ?Bayonet Bahadur Infantry Day Run?, organised by Infantry School and Colonel?s Academy for the citizens of Mhow, will be held at Mhow on October 29.

A MINI marathon “Bayonet Bahadur Infantry Day Run”, organised by Infantry School and Colonel’s Academy for the citizens of Mhow, will be held at Mhow on October 29.

Infantry Day is celebrated on October 27 every year but the marathon is being organised on Sunday, October 29 to get maximum participation of the citizens of Mhow.

Colonel’s Academy director Arjun Bahadur told Hindustan Times that the marathon has been named after his father and the founder of the school Late Col Fateh Jang Bahadur, an Infantry officer who had got recognition as a renowned mountaineer after he climbed Pungama peak of Himalayas range (this peak was climbed for the first time by a five-member British delegation of which Col Bahadur was a part).

Arjun Bahadur said that the premier training institution of the Indian Army, The Infantry School’ is the co-organiser of the event.

The run will start on October 29 and the forms are available at Colonel’s Academy director Arjun Bahadur and adjutant of 26 Maratha Light Infantry unit Major Joydip Mukherjee.

Major Joydip Mukherjee told that Infantry School commandant Lt Gen Satyevir Yadav will be the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony who will give away the prizes along with Colonel’s Academy principal Kiran Bahadur. Hindustan Times is the media partner of the marathon.
