"We do not have surplus tigers," Singh told reporters.

Singh's statement comes after Union Environment and Forest Minister Jairam Ramesh wrote to the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, requesting them to provide a few tigers for Sariska.

Singh said the state government had not yet received any letter from Ramesh in this connection.
