YET ANOTHER minor girl was raped and left unconscious near her house by unidentified goons in Aliganj in the wee hours of Monday. The seriously injured victim is undergoing treatment at the Dufferin (Avanti Bai) Hospital.

Though the parents of the victim are tight-lipped about the suspect, CO Aliganj DK Singh says the victim’s neighbour is the culprit. Singh further says the suspect is absconding but a police team is after him.
The cops are reportedly waiting for the doctor’s signal to record statement of the victim.
The incident took place at Fatehpur village. The victim’s father, a fruit vendor, stated that he was sleeping on the terrace along with his wife, two children including the victim and two relatives. He woke up around 1 am to find his 11-year-old daughter missing. Initially, he thought that the girl would have gone downstairs.
However, he got anxious after he did not see the girl even though he searched her in and outside the house. He immediately woke up his wife and the duo started searching for the girl. The couple later spotted the girl lying unconscious at the terrace of his neighbour’s house. Blood oozing out profusely from her private parts established that she was raped.
The seriously injured victim was initially rushed to the nearby Neera Hospital from where she was referred to the KGMU Trauma Centre. The KGMU medicos, however, sent her to the Dufferin Hospital.
After primary examination, the doctors there stated that the girl was raped. Despite being interrogated rigorously, the victim’s parents could not refer name of the suspect.
Talking to the HT Lucknow, CO DK Singh said it was not possible to take the girl from her terrace to the adjacent house. Singh said that primary investigation revealed that the accused was familiar to the girl, as it appeared she had walked to the spot without any resistance. Had she offered resistance to the accused the commotion would have alerted her parents, the CO said.
