Mirwaiz attack echoes in Legislative Assembly

Mangat Ram Sharma informs the assembly that adequate security has been provided to the Hurriyat leader.

Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma on Monday informed the legislative assembly that adequate security has been provided to the Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

He however said that if need arises the security provided to the Hurriyat leader would be reviewed and strengthened. Health minister in a response to the directions of the Deputy Speaker Mohammed Akbar Lone regarding to this subject when Mian Altaf Ahmed, Mehboob Baig, Sharief-ud-Shariq, Ali Mohammed Sagar, AR Veeri, Ghulam Hassan Khan and several other members raised the issue of grenade attack on the residence of Chairman Moulvi Umar Farooq in Srinagar on Monday. The members expressed their concerns over the incident and demanded a statement from government.

Mangat Ram Sharma also assured the deputy speaker that adequate medicare would be provided to a political worker who reportedly has been
injured at Hajin on Monday.
