The felicitation of those who were jailed during the Emergency is on the priority list of the government, and the district officials are going through the records of the period from June 25, 1975 to March 21, 1977 to prepare a list and contact the detainees of MISA and the Defence of India Rules.

The government has decided to provide the detainees with a pension of Rs 500 per month to them. Principal secretary RC Srivastav had already sent a circular to the district magistrates, asking them to prepare a list of the detainees. District magistrate Dr Hariom has asked ADM PK Agrawal to contact the detainees so that they can participate in the programme.

Sources said that the district jail authority provided a list of 308 detainees to the district administration.
