All Mizo families who have left the now vacated Gaza Strip are all right and have been provided temporary places, according to sources. According to research scholar Zaithanchhungi, who is "constantly in touch" with Mizo families who have migrated to Israel, the Mizo community in the Gaza Strip had been preparing for the move for sometime and faced no difficulty in vacating the place. She said all Mizo families had moved from the Gaza Strip two days before the deadline.

"As far as information I have received, 12 families have settled in the lower part of Galilee, while 12 have been given temporary residence at the Herusalem Gate Hotel in Jerusalem. Another 10 families are staying at the Hyatt Hotel there, while eight others have gone to Ashkelon on the Mediterranean seaboard and been put up at the Kefar Nofesh hotel there," she said. All displaced families are to receive between $250,000 lakh and $ 500,000.

Zaithanchhungi said other Mizo families who have moved to Israel have not been affected as they had not settled in Gaza, unlike the first Mizos to migrate to Israel in 1989.
