A veteran of many battles, Delhi BJP's "chief ministerial candidate" Madanlal Khurana is one of the tallest leaders of Delhi politics.

The former Chief Minister of Delhi, Madanlal Khurana got a berth in the Cabinet after an active career in Delhi State politics.

A businessman by vocation, Khurana entered active politics in 1965 and became Delhi's BJP president in 1986 and once again after some years. He became the party's all-India secretary in 1990.

Delhi's first Chief Minister, after the Union Territory got an Assembly, Khurana had to relinquish his post after being named in the hawala scam. He was only recently cleared by the courts.

On July 13, 2002 BJP chief had announced that Madan Lal Khurana would be the chief ministerial candidate in the assembly polls. However, the infighting later dimmed that announcement later.
