FORMER PRINCIPAL of Government Inter College (GIC) Tilak Singh Rajput seems to be heading for troubled times. Rajput has been accused of committing irregularities in the appointment of evaluators for UP Board exam.

Rajbahadur Singh Chandel, MLC, said unfair means adopted by Rajput during the evaluation work of the UP Board had raised a question mark over the dignity of teachers.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Chandel said being the custodian of the evaluation centre, the principal had made mockery of the evaluation norms. He demanded suitable action against the principal.
Chandel said he would take up the issue with the Education Minister (Madhyamik), UP Board secretary and director education (Madhyamik).
The GIC principal has been accused of appointing fake evaluators under K-Muha- 9, while performing additional job of deputy controller of GIC evaluation centre.
During a raid, district inspector of schools (ADIOS) SP Jaiswal found about seven fake evaluators, including two girls, who are allegedly relatives of a teacher assisting the principal in the evaluation work.
However, primary investigations have revealed that the principal had appointed about 22 such evaluators.
The probe report has been sent to Board authorities. It has recommended a detailed investigation into the matter.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Jaiswal complained that outgoing principal Rajput had not handed over various important files of the school to him.
He said when the files were demanded through a letter on May 1, Rajput questioned the ADIOS’ authority. He said that the district education authorities (Madhyamik) had been informed about Rajput’s stance.
However, taking note of serious lapses in the evaluation work, the principal was attached with the JD (education). ADIOS SP Jaiswal has been given additional charge of deputy controller for the remaining period.
District convenor of Madhyamik Shishak Sangh (Sharma group) Prem Mohan Mishra demanded that an FIR be lodged against the principal and others involved in the fraud.
Talking to Hindustan Times, he said, “When FIRs can be filed against teachers, centre heads and examinees, then why not against the principal and other teachers involved in such malpractices.”
Mishra added they have taken up the issue with all concerned authorities. He added that MLC Om Prakash Sharma had asked them to find out details of the irregularities so that it could be discussed when they meet later.
