A moderate intensity earthquake shook parts of Jammu and Kashmir along the Indo-China border on Thursday morning, the Meteorological department said.

The tremor, measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale, hit the region at 8:14 am, officials said.
There was no immediate report of any casualty or damage to property.
The epicentre of the quake was located at 36.4 degrees north on the latitude and 76.1 degrees east on the longitude.
