Moderate to brisk polling was reported from across Nagaland for the lone Parliamentary seat during the first one hour.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was among the first voters to exercise his franchise in his native village Touphema about 40 kms from Kohima, while Pradesh Congress president and former Chief Minister SC Jamir and Congress candidate K Asungba Sangtam voted at Mokokchung.

Over 10.40 lakh electorate will decide the fate of five contenders in this election mainly fought on the issue of vexed Naga political problem.

No untoward incident was reported, the sources said.

Meanwhile, Nagaland Pradesh Congress has complained to the Election Commission seeking disqualification of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) candidate, alleging that DAN senior ministers jointly campaigned with NSCN (I-M) leaders in the state.
