Hailing his statement, MPMVP president Mohammad Mahir said, "The Prime Minister’s statement and the confidence reposed on Muslims is laudable."

Mahir said that Congress leader Salman Khurshid questioning Modi’s statement is wrong as it was during UPA regime that many Muslims were implicated and arrested in the name of terror.
