Mohali may host six matches

Disclosing this on Monday, PCA President Inderjit Singh Bindra said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has recommended Mohali as one of the venues for the Champions Trophy.

"We have received the recommendation letter from the BCCI. However, the confirmation from the International Cricket Council is awaited."

"A representative of the ICC inspected the PCA Stadium and the facilities available here. We expect to organise six matches," said Mr Bindra.

Asked to give names of the other venues recommended by the BCCI, Mr Bindra said, "I can not disclose that but I can say that BCCI has recommended Mohali as one of the venues."

It is learnt that the BCCI has also recommended Chennai, Kolkata and Cricket Club of India, Mumbai as the other venues of the Champions Trophy.
