Molestation bid: Teacher for student’s suicide

The Gurgaon police have arrested a school teacher in connection with the suicide of a 12-year-old student of his class, reports HT Correspondent.

The Gurgaon police have arrested a school teacher in connection with the suicide of a 12-year-old student of his class. The girl was found hanging from a tree outside her house in a village in Pataudi on Monday morning.

The relatives of the girl have alleged that she took the extreme step after her teacher attempted to molest her in the classroom on an earlier date, the police officials said.

"Today, the father alleged that her daughter had depressed ever since the molestation attempt and it was the teacher had abetted her daughter to commit suicide. We have arrested the teacher and produced him in the court today," the SHO said.

According to police officials, the teacher had claimed innocence in the case. The teacher had said that the molestation attempt charges were baseless as he had only scolded the girl for not replying to a question correctly in the presence of 50 odd students of the class.
