, though appreciated by one and all, got off to a poor start. On the opening day, the collections were between 20 and 30 per cent across multiplexes.
The scenario at the single screen theatres was gloomier. The film picked up towards evening and the night shows registered better collections but not enough to ensure that the film would sail through.
Puneet Sira’s
Jai Veeru
opened in some cinemas on Wednesday to take advantage of Holi . But poor publicity ensured that no one was aware of this film and it opened with 10 and 20 per cent collections.
Average opening
Sooni Taraporevala’s directorial debut,
Little Zizou
, was released at select theatres with apt show timings. Limited shows helped bring in a decent audience at several multiplexes in the first weekend. It remains to be if the film remains steady over the next week.
