As swollen ganga flooded their house at Farna village, Bahadur Prasad, a farmer, with his family members, shifted to the embankment where they were staying in the hut.

A fire suddenly engulfed the hut as a candle fell when Bahadur's wife Reena Devi and her daughters-- Nisha Kumari (7) and Sumanti (2) were asleep late last night, sources said.

All the three, who suffered 90 per cent burns, died on the spot, they added.
