MP: 53 children taken ill after eating mid-day meal
Fifty three children fell sick after eating food served on Independence Day at a government-run primary school at Balapur in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

Fifty three children fell sick after eating food served on Independence Day at a government-run primary school at Balapur in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
The children, who had assembled for Independence Day celebrations, were given mid-day meal which consisted of puris.
After eating, many children started complaining of uneasiness, said district project coordinator Ashok Paradkar.
The sick children were admitted to Ichhawar Civil Hopsital, while six of them, whose condition was serious, were sent to Sehore district hospital here.
Meanwhile, the district education department has cancelled the license of the NGO which supplied the food.
