The body of another person was retrieved from the Narmada river near Khandwa on Tuesday, taking the death toll in a boat capsize to four even as one person was still reported missing, police said.

The body of Shivhari Agrawal was fished out this morning as a team of 22 divers were engaged in search and rescue operations, they said.

The bodies of four persons, including a woman, have been recovered since the boat carrying 16 pilgrims from Mumbai capsized in the river near Omkareshwar on October 29, police said. A man named Rajendra was still reported missing.

The bodies were handed over to the kin of the dead and compensation of Rs 50,000 was paid to each of them, officials said. A magisterial probe has been ordered into the incident.

Hukumchan Indori, the owner of the boat, and boatman Dinesh, who fled after the incident, have been taken into custody, police said.
