The man has been identified as Narendra Patel, 20, on the basis of an aadhar card recovered from his trouser pocket, but the girl’s identity couldn't be ascertained yet. The bodies, first noticed by local residents, were found in a decomposed state.

Police said that an informer has told them the girl appears to be a resident of a nearby village, but until the family arrives and identifies her, nothing concrete can be said about her identity.

Patel was a student of BSc II year at the Model Science College in Rewa and lived in a rented flat in Sanjay Nagar. The youth's kin said though they were aware that he was in relationship with a girl, they didn't know her name or address.

Police said they have learnt Naredera used two cell phones and both of them are missing.

"There was no response when we called on his number. There are injuries marks on the bodies of deceased, the primary investigation suggest that they were killed. The cause of death can be established only after the post mortem arrives,” said investigation officer VD Dwivedi.
