MP: Woman gang-raped in Gwalior, four arrested

A 35-year-old woman who works as a labourer at a construction site was allegedly gang-raped by five people in Deendayal Nagar under Maharajpura police station on the outskirts of Gwalior on Saturday afternoon.

A 35-year-old woman who works as a labourer at a construction site was allegedly gang-raped by five people in Deendayal Nagar under Maharajpura police station on the outskirts of Gwalior on Saturday afternoon.

Police have arrested four of the five accused. They were in the age group of 30-35 years and were identified as Ramvaran Gurjar, Ramsnehi, Khacchu Gurjar, Kalli and Dhanna.

City superintendent of police (CSP) Vivek Agrawal said the police acted promptly and arrested all the accused except Dhanna. He said a hunt has been launched to nab him.

The victim's husband also works as a labourer. The woman and her husband lodged a complaint at Maharajpura police station on Saturday evening.

The accused, who are into construction business, called the woman for some work and raped her near the construction site in Deendayal Nagar. The accused knew the victim as she had worked at their site earlier.
