The plans to kill Sayeed last year before to light with the arrest of PDP councillor from Zakoora area of Srinagar Abdul Waheed Dar and his associate Wahid Ahmad Dar of Hazratbal locality, senior superintendent of police, Srinagar, Muneer Khan said. The arrest of the PDP councillor once again highlighted the nexus between militants and politicians in the Valley. Abdul Waheed’s alleged links with LeT came to light within a month after the arrest of two local leaders of Congress and National Conference allegedly involved in helping militants in carrying out several suicide attacks in the city.
Meanwhile in Delhi, deputy chief minister Muzaffar Baig said he was not aware of any such report.
