Attacking the bête noire Muftis of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday claimed the father-daughter duo is part of a conspiracy to flare up communal tension in the state.
“The PDP is acting as a proxy ally of the BJP and following the diktats of Narendra Modi to fragment and fracture the voice of our people,” said Abdullah in his speech made in Tral area of Pulwama district, which is going for polls on April 24.
Referring to PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and its president Mehbooba Mufti, Abdullah said, “The BJP founded PDP to carry forward its agenda of divide and rule and to flare up communal tensions and regional animosity in the State. The Mufti father-daughter duo is a part of this conspiracy,” he said.
He alleged that the PDP thrives on falsehood and “has a habit of fishing in troubled waters to fool the people with their hollow slogans and speeches”.
“By providing tactical support to the BJP in the current parliamentary elections, Muftis were finally repaying the debt they owe to BJP for their political existence,” he said.
