WHILE FEIGNING ignorance about a reward announced on the head of the Danish cartoonist by Haj Minister Haji Yaqoob Quereshi, Samajwadi Party MP Ramgopal Yadav said that if the minister had announced any reward on the cartoonist it was wrong. He added there was no question that the State government or for that matter Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was behind the declaration of reward.

The SP MP also tried to put the onus on the media for bribing MLAs through sting operation. Regarding the SP changing stand when a minister of the SP-led government had been shown taking bribe, Yadav said there was no similarity in both the cases. Besides, the party was probing the matter and if found guilty action would be taken, he added.
On the formation of a third front after the Iran issue, Yadav said unnecessary interpretations should not be done.
He said on the Iran issue, final voting would take place. He said even then if the UPA government voted in support of the US and European Union’s anti-Iran proposal, the SP would move a no-confidence motion in Parliament, which would be supported by all like-minded parties besides the Left parties.
Yadav termed the suspension of Raj Babbar from the party as a correct decision and said those indulging in indiscipline should be punished.
Rubbishing the claims of opposition parties that elections would be held before the term expired, he said elections would be held on schedule only. He claimed that the Congress and the BJP were nowhere and the fight would be between the SP and the Bahujan Samaj Party only.
