The assembly also decided to extend its full support to the Young Mizo Association's crusade against drugs and supported the peaceful dialogue with the Brus, adding that the Brus to be repatriated should not be grouped in a specific area.

The convention also adopted resolutions on socio-economic-political matters, which included new drug legislation to replace the inadequate Assam Drug Control Act of 1950. The earlier resolution to increase the strength of the 40-member Mizoram Assembly to 60 was opposed on the ground that it would be a burden on the state exchequer without tangible administrative efficacy.
