He urged the BJP government to ensure that the coming civic polls were held in a free and fair manner.
Aslam told reporters that there were apprehensions that the BJP might indulge in malpractices to win the elections and asked the ruling party to desist from them.
He said that in many areas, names of Muslims were being deleted from the voter's lists as it was thought that they would never vote for the BJP.
Aslam, a former hockey Olympian said that names of 1,260 Muslims had been deleted from the voters list from ward number 20 in Bhopal.
He said that similar complaints had also been received from other parts of the state including Indore and Ujjain.
The Congress leader warned the BJP not to do anything that would make Madhya Pradesh go the Gujarat way.
