Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Hazrat Abdurehman Mubarkpuri of Mubarakpur said that Nawab Siddiq Hassan Khan was a great scholar who had served society and education through literary works. He said that work of Siddiq Hassan should be highlighted to give a lesson to the new generation. He called upon the people to follow the path of the Siddiq Hassan and serve the nation.
Maulana Habiburrehman Khan of Bhopal said that the speciality of Nawab was to raise a voice against the ills of the contemporary society, He added that Nawab had raised his voice against the poor condition of widows.
Maulana Habib said that Nawab had married two widows to promote widow remarriage in society.
Noted scholar Dr Muktada Hassan highlighted the personality and works of Nawab. He said that Nawab had authored more than 300 books on different topics. He said that the new generation should get inspiration from the life of Nawab.
Abdul Saud of Jamia Salphia established the theme of the seminar. He said that a lot of research had been done on the work of Nawab. He also highlighted the contribution of Nawab in the freedom struggle of India. The British government had taken all the medals given to Nawab due to the soft approach of Nawab towards freedom fighters.
It may be mentioned that Nawab Siddiq Hassan Khan was a great literary personality of the country.
He wrote more than 300 books on 32 different topics like explanation of Quran and Hadith, biography of the Prophet, schools of thoughts (faith) and on Arbian, Persian and Urdu literature. His role in the freedom struggle of India was memorable. He was born in Bareilly in 1832 and died in 1890.
