Sharp cuts, sexy lengths and sassy styles formed this "glam distressed" collection with torn textures and shimmering gold, metallic scarves and short bomber jackets.
Definitely for fashionistas who want to create a stir, the line was designed in a modern idiom, sheer fabrics were lined with shimmering golds to create an illusion, shaped hemlines, asymmetric cuts, long rib jackets and pants all put together for a layered, textured and balanced imperfection.
"I draw inspiration from the little imperfections of life which add to its beauty," says the petite designer who retails from over 80 stores in the US including Neiman Marcus.
Sparkling gold, antique gold, and gold dust, were used in conjunction with coal black, baby tan, mud, and bark to set the mood of urban nightlife. The ruggedness of stained and distressed leathers with unfinished visible seams, metallic nets layered with chiffons, and disintegrating wool crochets and knits added to the sense of urban degradation which lies beyond the illusion created by the sparkling sequins, gold lames' and crushed silks.
The silhouettes were contemporary and very with-it. Off-shoulder tunic dresses elasticated at the waist, poncho blouses made of dark leather pieces and wool, wicked handkerchief hem georgette skirts, gathered tights ablaze with black sequins, tops with ultra-wide rib knit waist-panels or wrap and tie closures, and ruched skirts with scraped-off paint prints were crafted to perfection by Joshipura.
The collection had an equal mix of western and fusion wear, and is aimed at the modern, global woman.
