Narcotics worth Rs 1 crore seized in Kerala

Two persons hailing from Gudalur in neighbouring Tamil Nadu have been arrested on charges of possessing 950 grams of brown sugar, estimated to cost Rs 1 crore in the international market, police said today.
The duo, held under the Narcotic Drugs and Pyschotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, would be produced in the Special Court at Vadakara near here, they said.
The accused were nabbed from the mofussil bus terminus yesterday after police grew suspicious over their behaviour.
Investigation was on to ascertain if they had links with any drug mafia, police added.
