Meanwhile, security has been stepped up in view of the communal riots in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh last year.

A number of police personnel have been deployed. Besides bomb disposal squads and metal detectors have been set up to secure Modi's rally.

During a rally in Patna in October last year, a series of blasts took place in the city before the Gujarat chief minister began speaking. Six people were killed and more than 80 were injured in the blasts.
