Two children, aged five and six, had a narrow escape on Friday evening when two ceramic tiles fell from the wall of a mall where they were had gone along with their mother.

The incident happened around 5.15 pm at Ambi Mall, off the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway when Sarita Verma (name changed on request), a resident of Sector 56, was buying ice-cream for her daughters. The tiles came off the wall and fell couple of steps from these kids, the mother claimed.
"All of a sudden I saw two one foot by one foot ceramic tiles fell from the third floor of the wall. They fell just a few feet from my daughters who were standing by my side. It was very close and had the tiles fallen on them, anything could have happened," she said adding that the poor construction standard could have resulted in chipping off of tiles from the walls.
"I was shocked to see the lukewarm response of the security staff who said that there was nothing to worry as no one was hurt," she added.
Dipak Kapoor, general manager of Ambi Mall, said that there was some construction work going on at the place where tiles fell and the area was barricaded.
"Visitors are not allowed to enter the area where the tiles fell as there was minor construction work going on. We also had barricaded the area so that none is hurt in the case of some material falls to the ground," he added.
