Terrorists hurled a grenade towards the house of Lone, PDP councillor and Chairman of Municipal Committee, Ganderbal, at Bamloora village in Ganderbal district late on Sunday night causing injuries to a Special Police Officer posted on guard duty, the sources said.

The sources said Lone alongwith his family was present inside the house and escaped unhurt in the blast which caused damage to the window panes of the house.

Injured SPO, Abdul Rashid was shifted to hospital, the sources said.

In another incident, the sources said terrorists made an abortive bid to target a CRPF picket with a grenade at Chanikhan locality of Sopore in Baramulla district late Sunday night.

The grenade fell short of the CRPF picket, manned by personnel of 179 battalion, causing no harm, the sources said.

No terrorists outfit has so far claimed responsbility for the two grenade attacks.

A hunt has been launched to nab the militants involved in the attacks, the sources said.
