Nation remembers Jawaharlal Nehru on his 49th death anniversary
Chief minister N Rangasamy led the Union Territory today in paying homage to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 49th death anniversary.

The nation on Monday paid homage to India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 49th death anniversary
A remembrance ceremony was held at 6 a.m. at Nehru's memorial at Shanti Van in the capital.
President Pranab Mukherjee, vice-president Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi paid floral tributes to Nehru.
A large number of school children also attended the ceremony and paid homage to the country's first prime minister.
An all-religion prayer meeting was organised at the memorial and devotional songs were sung.
