National seminar on ICT in Life Sciences in Nov.

A two-day national seminar on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Life Sciences will be organised jointly by Computer Society of India (CSI) Allahabad Chapter and Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University (AAI-DU) at AAI-DU on November 17, 2006.
AAI-DU Technical and Professional Education co-ordinator and secretary, organising committee Dr RK Isaac said that the seminar is basically aimed at bringing experts on a common platform to give their opinions on the use of information communication technology in various disciplines including computer science, biology, agriculture and medical science.
The seminar will cover original research works, case studies, industrial product presentations, presentations on innovative use of computer technology on the following but not limited to these topics including agro-informatics, hydro-informatics, bio-informatics, medical-informatics, expert systems for soil water & crop management, health, electronic prescription, e-health, tele-health, tele-medicine, adoption of health IT in India ,role of ICT in development of agriculture, health and biological sciences.
Dr Isaac said that the patrons of the seminar include AAI-DU Vice-Chancellor Prof RB Lal, AAI-DU Pro VC Prof Henry Sheferd, CSI president Lalit Sawhney, CSI vice-president Bipin Mehta, CSI regional vice-president RK Gupta, CSI Division-III chairman Deepak Shikarpur.
Prof KK Bhutani of UPTEC, Prof BD Chaudhary from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Prof AK Gupta from Allahabad University's JK Institute of Applied Physics, Prof AK Vanwasi from United College of Engineering and Research, Dr M Massey, principal Ewing Christian College, Dr AK Bansal from Allahabad Medical Association, Er T Usmani and Er MY Khan from ITI Naini and Dr AK Lawrence from AAI-DU are the members of the advisory committee of the seminar.
Dr Isaac said that original papers on any of the above-mentioned or related topic can be sent through e-mail, hard copy or CD. The last date of submitting papers is October 31, 2006.
