The statement was given to the Rajya Sabha Secretary General Yogendra Narain, shortly before the Question Hour ended.

"I have given a statement to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat and it was for the Chairman to decide," Natwar Singh told reporters.

"You should see when I speak," Natwar Singh said when asked about the contents of his statement.

Asked whether the statement would be taken up on Thursday, he quipped "I hope so".

A meeting of the Business Advisory Council was convened to discuss the issue shortly after the House was adjourned amid uproarious scenes with opposition demanding the presence of the Prime Minister.
