The attack on Congress leader Advesh Gautam's house on July 8 was orchestrated by Lingaram Kodopi and police claim that he has links with the activists, the officials said.

Two persons, including Gautam's son, were killed in the attack.

Kodopi, a resident of Sameli village, had been undergoing training in terror activities in Delhi and Gujarat in the last few months. He had also been overseas on several occasions and is recently doing a media-related course in New Delhi, they said.

His name is being considered for heading CPI (Maoist) operations in Chhattisgarh after the killing of the banned outfit's top leader Azad on July 2 in a police "encounter" in Andhra Pradesh, the officials said.
