Naxals attempt to blow off Bihar school

Suspected Maoists exploded dynamites in a state-run school at Ketaki village in Bihar’s Aurangabad district on Monday.Police said more than 150 Naxalites raided the school and triggered dynamite blasts inside the school building.

However, the school was not damaged as the explosion was not powerful, Police said, adding that the Naxals took away an electricity generator from the school before they reached the spot.The ongoing school attacks by Maoists are an attempt to foil the administration’s bid to house Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other para-military forces in the educational centres for deployment in Maoist-hit areas during Lok Sabha polls, police said.

Maoists blew off two school buildings in Jamui and Gaya districts in Bihar recently.
