Naxals blast engine

NAXAL OUTFIT CPI (Maoist) attacked the railway station in Bhansi in south Bastar’s Dantewada district last night, engineered a blast and damaged a train engine.

According to the police, the Naxals stormed at Bhansi railway station at 2 am last night. They planted a bomb and triggered it. A part of the engine was damaged.

The police said Naxals abducted ASM Adimurty, driver Heera, assistant driver S K Dutta, guard Pratap Singh and token porter P S N Rao. They took them about one km away from the station. All of them were freed after the blast.

The police have seized a pamphlet near the railway station in which the Naxals warned that if Salva-Judum was not stopped immdiately, they will make more attacks. They also opposed Tata and Essar companies’ plan to open establishments. Senior personnel from the Railways visited the spot today.
