Singh was in Ranchi when about 200 naxalites surrounded the house, asked the inmates to come out before stuffing it with dynamites and blowing it up at the village, 70km from Palamau town, the sources said.

Kamlesh Kumar Singh later said that his eldest brother and his family members were staying at the ancestral house but all are safe as the naxals had evicted them.

He said he had asked the police not to go to the incident site at night as the area might have been mined by the ultras. "I do not want a second incident to happen at the place," he said.
